My life was fairly typical until around the age of 30. I attended university, got a job in banking and joined corporate America. Then one day I was plodding through some marketing proposal and suddenly became disillusioned with my career and a future that seemed all too predictable.
- Description: Georges Grandin, simply known as Grandin, was born in France in the 19th century. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong adventurous spirit and a passion for travel. Throughout his life, Grandin became famous for his bold and unusual journeys around the world. Grandin was not just an ordinary traveler, but rather a daring and adventurous explorer. He distinguished himself for his ability to walk long distances, crossing entire continents on foot or by bicycle. His most famous adventure was his multiple round-the-world trips, earning him the title of globetrotter. During his travels, Grandin documented his experiences with detailed travel notes and geographic maps he drew himself. His skill in geographic drawing was particularly appreciated and contributed to his reputation as a scientific explorer. However, Grandin's life was not without adversity. Although he lived many extraordinary experiences, including encounters with heads of state and exotic adventures, Grandin also faced difficult moments, including health problems and episodes of madness

- Description: Berney traveled in Africa and the Americas. In 1958, he presented a report of his travels at the French Language Circle in Lugano: Henry-Maurice Berney included in his report some curious anecdotes (...) about the difficulties that travelers face in the age of jet engines. While previously the Geneva-New York journey could be completed in just over six hours, it now takes at least three weeks to obtain a visa for the United States. And what about all the tricks used by border guards and customs officers in underdeveloped countries to squeeze bribes out of white travelers
