- Description: In a commemorative postcard, Massimo Leuret claimed to be undertaking a 60,000-kilometer (37,282 miles) journey around the world. According to Libera Stampa (January 7, 1921), he departed from Geneva on January 1, 1914, cycling across Germany, Russia, Siberia, Japan, and later through the South American republics. He reached France at Le Havre on November 30, 1920. The journey took place under the auspices of the Swiss Touring Club, which stipulated that he could only travel on foot or by bicycle across the continents. During the Atlantic crossing from New York to Le Havre, he worked for the Compagnie Transatlantique to finance his passage. Upon his arrival in Nice, he expected to be back in Geneva within six weeks, thereby completing a world tour that lasted seven years and covered 60,000 km (37,282 miles)

- Description: George Loher traveled the route from Oakland (California) to New York by bicycle. Departing on August 11, 1895, he decided to take an alternative route compared to those taken by his peers. He followed the Pacific coast to Portland, then headed East towards Idaho, Montana, and Dakota before reaching Chicago. He entered New York on October 30, and as reported by the San Francisco Call on December 17, 1895, "The cyclist traveled over 4'350 miles of roads, trails, and deserts, and has no intention of repeating the journey"
