- Description: Led by writer and activist C.B. Hall, a group of participants walked from Seattle to Moscow, from April 1982 to August 1984, covering approximately 8,900 km (5,500 miles) across the United States and much of Europe. They were not permitted to walk in Eastern Europe but obtained visas to camp and meet people in East Germany for a few days. Some members of the group visited Moscow to meet with Soviet Peace Committee officials
