- Description: Frank Lenz started his global tour in 1892 on a "safety-bicycle" Victor with pneumatic tires (invented by John Dunlop in 1888). He cycled solo across the United States from East to West, entered China, reached Burma, India, and Persia. His adventures were regularly featured in "Outing" magazine. His journey ended tragically in Turkey, just before Erzurum, where he was murdered
