  • Description: On March 31, 1928, Franz Romer set off solo from Lisbon with the intention of crossing the Atlantic in a kayak. The twenty-nine-year-old German traveled for 4'000 miles over 58 days before reaching the island of Puerto Rico. After six weeks of recovery, he set sail again to reach New York. He was declared missing following a hurricane that caused him to disappear without a trace
