• Description: In 2011, after covering 60'000 km across 3 continents and 38 countries in 14 months, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest journey by quad bike (four-wheeled motorcycles), two Australians crossed the finish line in Sydney, in tribute to their teammate who tragically died mid-journey. Jamie Kenyon, 25, and Kristopher Teddy Davant, 27, known as the "Expedition Quad Squad," crossed the bay bridge on their vehicles, escorted by police and hundreds of motorcyclists, in the final leg of a journey that began in Istanbul. The duo had almost given up after the death of their companion, 24-year-old Italian Valerio De Simoni, whose bike was struck by an out-of-control car in Malawi. In addition to breaking the previous record of 27'141 km, the Quad Squad used their adventure to support the NGO Oxfam and raised the equivalent of about 40'000 euros for the fight against poverty
